MONTANA NATIONAL PARKS
Yellowstone National Park

Drove north to Yellowstone.  Stayed at the Grant Village.

Took in Old Faithful and the other thermal features in the area.

Boiling water and steam

The prismatic hot springs were strangely beautiful and eerie.

The next day we drove around Yellowstone Lake, then along the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

We stopped for numerous views of the Upper and Lower Falls
North of Canyon Village is beautiful rolling countryside filled with animals.  We saw a golden colored wolf but he was to far away for a good picture.

Here a herd of buffalo graze in the distance.

Up close and personal with a buffalo.
Ended the day at the Mammoth Hot Springs Village.
Had a modest little cabin.  The car drew a bit of attention.
Took a driving tour of the hot springs formations.

The hot springs were not very interesting.  If you are exiting the park by the north entrance they are worth a stop but they are definitely not worth the drive up from the southern part of the park.

Elk on the lawns in Mammoth Hot Springs.
