Back in Athens Zanna led a tour of the Benaki Museum.

The Benaki Museum, established and endowed in 1930 by Antonis Benaki is housed in the Benakis family mansion in downtown Athens, Greece.

The museum houses Greek works of art from the prehistorical to the modern times, an extensive collection of Asian art, hosts periodic exhibitions and maintains a state-of-the-art restoration and conservation workshop.

This was a very impressive museum with an amazingly varied collection. Among the many textiles were these wonderful cross stitch works.

A few examples from the collection

Another example from the collection.

And still another

That night we had the farewell dinner at the restaurant at the Electra Palace.

These dinners are always fun but at this point everyone is thinking about going home.

A final toast to our guide Zanna.

Final views of the Acropolis from the retaurant and hotel.

Next day we left for home.  Had an uneventful but long trip home.
