Hike to Ptarmigan Ridge

The next day Mike and I took a day hike along Ptarmigan Ridge.

The ridge approaches Mt. Baker which you can see in the background.

The day was delightfully bright and the scenery as on the whole trip was terrific.

Some nice alpine meadows as we climb the east side of My. Baker.

Not to long into the hike you get well above tree line.

We encountered several large snow fields but they were not hard to navigate.

The trail ends when you get to the glaciers which is where the alpinebegin which is where the alpine climbing begins.

This snow field was large and a bit steep going up well traversed by hikers.

Lots of excellent scenery on the way down.

Alas the trip is over and we need to head back to Seattle for flights home.
